Learn about the work of quality and inspection specialists! The aim of specialists is not only to check public transport passengers, but also to ensure general order and safety on public transport.
The Value Creation Department employs 60 quality and inspection specialists in 15 teams and 5 service vehicles.
Specialists not only check public transport passengers, but also ensure order on public transport, seek to provide more comfort and safety for passengers, and reduce the number of antisocial individuals traveling.
Since 2017, specialists have carried out more than 15 different surprises and promotions for public transport passengers, and their number is growing every year! Inspectors have delighted more than 38,000 passengers in Vilnius with their surprises.
When traveling by public transport, remember to follow the rules, purchase your ticket in advance, and validate it properly to ensure a smooth and pleasant journey around Vilnius!
When traveling on public transport without a ticket, you can pay for it in the following ways:
Control ticket
If, during an inspection, a passenger does not have a public transport ticket, has not validated their ticket in time, or their ticket has expired, the passenger will be given the opportunity to purchase an inspection ticket for 15 euros.
Important: Tickets can only be paid for with a physical or virtual bank card.
Fine types
- A fine of €10 to €14 is imposed when a passenger pays for a journey with a discounted ticket but does not present a document confirming their right to a discount.
- A fine of €12 to €24 is imposed on parents or guardians (caregivers) for transporting children aged seven to fourteen without a ticket, children aged fourteen and above but younger than sixteen years of age.
- A fine of €16 to €30 shall be imposed on passengers who travel without a ticket or purchase a discounted ticket without being entitled to transport concessions.
- Carrying unpaid luggage incurs a fine of between €10 and €12.
How to pay?
Administrative fines can be paid on the my VMI website or via electronic banking by selecting the desired bank and specifying the budget revenue collection account of the State Tax Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania:

When filling out the receipt, it is necessary to indicate:
- Taxpayer identification number
- Recipient – State Tax Inspectorate
- Payment code – 1001
- Administrative Offenses Register Identification Code (ROIK)
- Payment amount
