In 2019, 3914 respondents participated in the survey.
According to the results of the survey, 44% of the company’s employees go to work by car, 33% by public transport, 7% on foot, 6% by car as a passenger, 3% by bike and combined travel, and 1% by car-sharing system and scooter.
Half (49%) of employees going to work by car do not carry passengers and do not have intermediate stops. Fifty-one percent of employees who do not normally go to work by car do not own a car.
Employees were asked about monthly expenses needed for travelling around the city (not only for travelling to work). On average, employees going to work by car spend EUR 116/month. Meanwhile, EUR 49 are spent if travelled by public transport, EUR 44 by bike and EUR 42 on foot.
Thirty-seven percent of employees start work at 8 am, 24% at 9 am, 11% at 7 am, 7% at 7:30 am and 8:30 am.
Twenty-two percent of respondents stated that they have intermediate stops during their trips to work (taking children to educational institutions, etc.)
On average, 29.6 minutes are needed by the employee of the company to come to work. The fastest way to reach work is by scooter (19 minutes).
Cycling and walking trips take on average 20 minutes, car-sharing system – 26 minutes, cars – 28 minutes and public transport – 35 minutes.
The survey revealed that employees starting work at 8 am reach work in 32 minutes, while those who start work at 8:30 am arrive in 30 minutes, 9 am in 30 minutes, 7:30 am in 28 minutes and 7 am in 26 minutes.
Twenty-five percent of employees who took part in the survey indicated that the need for a personal car had decreased in the last 6 months.
