Public transport ticket discounts

Find out about all the discounts available on public transport tickets:

For children, schoolchildren, and students
▶︎ Students in grades 1-4 can purchase an annual “Primary School Student Ticket.” The ticket costs €10.00 per year.
▶︎ One or two children up to 7 years old (inclusive) travel free of charge.
▶︎ Schoolchildren aged 8–18 (or those attending general education schools, but not older than 23) are eligible for an 80% discount on single and fixed-term tickets.
▶︎ Students receive an 80% discount on single and fixed-term tickets.
Passengers must present a document confirming their eligibility for a discount, except for children aged 8 to 18*. *The ticket inspector may not ask for identification if they have no reason to doubt the passenger’s age. However, if there is suspicion, the inspector has the right to ask the passenger to present a document proving their age, and the passenger must present it.

For seniors
▶︎ Pensioners under 80 years of age are eligible for a 50% discount.
▶︎ Pensioners aged 80 and over are eligible for an 80% discount, and a 12-month (356-day) ticket costs €10.00.
Passengers who present a marked/activated ticket with a discount for passenger control must also present a valid document confirming their right to a transport discount. Passengers who do not have a valid document entitling them to a transport discount must purchase a ticket at full price.

For families
▶︎ The family ticket is valid for travel by bus, trolleybus, and boat for 2 adults and up to 3 children. One ticket is activated for the entire family at the same time.

The price for a 30-minute trip by bus or trolleybus for a family is €2.10, and by boat is €7.

For groups
▶︎ A group ticket is intended for bus and trolleybus travel for groups of 10 to 25 people. One ticket is activated for the entire group at the same time.

A 30-minute ticket for a group of 10 people costs €8.50; for 11 people – €9.35; for 12 people – €10.20; for 13 people – €11.05; for 14 people – €11.90; 15 people – €12.75; 16 people – €13.12; 17 people – €13.94; 18 people – €14.76; 19 people – €15.58; 20 persons – EUR 16.40; 21 persons – EUR 17.22; 22 persons – EUR 18.04; 23 persons – EUR 18.86; 24 persons – EUR 19.68; 25 persons – EUR 20.50.

For POLA cardholders
▶︎ People with cancer and a POLA card get an 80% discount.
Passengers who present a marked/activated discounted ticket for passenger control must also present a valid document confirming their right to a transport discount. Passengers who do not have a valid document entitling them to a transport discount must purchase a ticket at full price.

For those with individual needs
▶︎ Those with a disability category I, total disability, and their accompanying persons (one accompanying person per person) are eligible for an 80% discount.
▶︎ Those with a disability category I, total disability, and their accompanying persons (one accompanying person per person) are eligible for an 80% discount.
▶︎ Persons who require regular hemodialysis treatment and their accompanying persons (one accompanying person per person) are eligible for an 80% discount.
▶︎ Those with a disability rating of II are eligible for a 50% discount on partial disability.
Passengers who present a marked/activated ticket with a discount for passenger control must also present a valid document confirming their right to a transport discount: disability certificate, certificate of working capacity due to an accident at work or occupational disease, or certificate of disability.

For victims
▶︎ An 80% discount applies to family members of defenders of Lithuanian independence who died or suffered as a result of the USSR’s aggression on January 11–13, 1991, and thereafter.
▶︎ Defenders of Lithuanian independence who lost their ability to work during the USSR’s aggression in 1991 and later are eligible for an 80% discount.
▶︎ Defenders of Lithuanian independence who suffered during the USSR aggression in 1991 and later are eligible for a 50% discount up to the age of 70 and an 80% discount over the age of 70.
▶︎ Participants in the resistance against the occupations of 1940–1990 – volunteer soldiers and participants in the freedom fights – are eligible for a 50% discount if they are under 70 years of age, and an 80% discount if they are over 70 years of age.
▶︎ From 1939 to 1990, victims of occupation – political prisoners and deportees, former prisoners of ghettos, concentration camps, or other types of forced labor camps – are eligible for a 50% discount if they are under 70 years of age, and an 80% discount if they are over 70 years of age.
▶︎ Persons who participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident are eligible for an 80% discount.
▶︎ Persons who performed compulsory military service or military training in the Soviet Army in Afghanistan are eligible for an 80% discount.
Passengers who present a marked/activated ticket with a discount for passenger control must also present a valid document confirming their right to a transport discount.
