Travel by public transport in the capital
Traveling around the city by public transport is a simple and convenient way to reach your destination, places of interest in the city center or suburbs. Get acquainted with the types of public transport in the capital. The following types of transport operate in Vilnius:
Express buses (marked with a green bus symbol with the letter “G”)
Buses (marked with a blue bus symbol)
Night buses (marked with a gray bus symbol with the letter “N”)

Students are eligible for an 80% discount on single and time-based tickets
Persons over 18 years of age who are enrolled in a general education program, including persons whose general education program and general education program combined with a vocational training program are provided by vocational training providers, but not longer than until they reach the age of 23; as well as persons who are enrolled in formal vocational training programs, including during their academic leave granted by vocational training providers due to illness, pregnancy, or childcare;
Students of higher education institutions studying under a full-time study program, Citizens of the Republic of Lithuania, other European Union member states, and European Economic Area countries, as well as their family members, studying at higher education institutions in European Union member states or European Economic Area countries under a full-time study program.
Important: For international students studying in Europe, discounts are only available with an international student ID card – ISIC. You can have either a physical ISIC card or a virtual ID on your phone.

Vilnius is becoming an increasingly convenient city to get around using environmentally friendly modes of transport that help save not only our nature, but also your time. Skip traffic by travelling by bicycle or other micromobility vehicles—the capital already has more than 177 km of cycle paths.
In Vilnius, you can store your bicycle safely and conveniently in bicycle storage facilities or lock it to bicycle racks. If needed, you can also take bicycles and scooters with you on public transport.

To ride around Vilnius, you don’t need to buy a bicycle or scooter. During the warm season, you can rent them easily and conveniently from several different companies operating in the capital, all contributing to the city’s sustainable mobility vision.
Frequently asked questions
For foreign students studying in Europe, discounts are only available with an international student card – ISIC. You can have both – a physical ISIC card and a virtual card on your phone.
The student certificate of a foreign university (school) and the international certificate "EURO26" are not recognized as documents giving the right to discount. Ticket discounts are available only with an ISIC (International Student Identity Card) certificate.

Important: it is not possible to use the app without Lithuanian phone number.
- You need to confirm that you really want to activate your ticket.
- After confirmation, wait for 15 seconds. After this time, your ticket will be activated.
