Ticket types and prices

Parent/Guardian of Minors:

• Free journey for two children under 7.

University Student:

• 50% discount for short-term tickets;
• 80% discount for day and long-term tickets.

Pupil:

• 10 EUR for a year (primary school pupil ticket);
• 50% discount for short-term tickets;
• 80% discount for day and long-term tickets.

Pensioner:

• 50% discount for those under 80;
• 80% discount for those over 80.

Person with disability:

• 50% discount for Group II disability (partial incapacity);
• 80% discount for Group I disability (total incapacity);
• 80% discount for those requiring hemodialysis (other illnesses – link);
• 80% discount for one accompanying person per person with disability.

Resistance and Aggression Victims:

For those over 70

• 50% discount for defenders of Lithuanian independence who suffered injury during aggression by the USSR in 1991 and later;
• 80% discount  for those with family members who died during aggression by the USSR in 1991 and later;
• 80% discount for defenders of Lithuanian independence who lost capacity during aggression by the USSR in 1991 and later;
• 80% discount for members of the Resistance against occupations of 1940-1990 (volunteer soldiers);
• 80% discount for those who suffered during the occupations of 1939-1990 (political prisoners, exiles, former prisoners in ghettos, concentration camps, and other types of forced camps);

For those under 70

• 50% discount for defenders of Lithuanian independence who suffered injury during aggression by the USSR in 1991 and later;
• 50% discount for members of the Resistance against occupations of 1940-1990 (volunteer soldiers, freedom fighters);
• 50% discount for those who suffered during the occupations of 1939-1990 (political prisoners, exiles, former prisoners, in ghettos, concentration camps, and other types of forced camps);
• 80% discount for those with family members who died during aggression by the USSR in 1991 and later;
• 80% discount for defenders of Lithuanian independence who lost capacity during aggression by the USSR in 1991 and later.

*Individuals eligible for these privileges are entitled to purchase a 12-month (365-day) ticket for 2.90 EUR.

Discounts are applied in accordance with the Law on Transport Privileges of the Republic of Lithuania.

• Persons who have reached the age of the State Social Insurance Old-Age Pension of up to 80 years;
• Pupils and day-time university students (80% discount is for long-term tickets);
• Persons who have been recognised as having a partial incapacity or persons who have reached the age of old-age pension and who have been recognised to have moderate special needs in accordance with the legal acts;
• Persons who have been recognised as having Group II disabilities before 1 July 2005;
• Participants in the Resistance against the occupations of 1940-1990 including volunteer soldiers under 70 and freedom fighters;*
• Persons who suffered from the occupations of 1939-1990 – political prisoners and exiles, former prisoners in ghettos, concentration camps or other types of forced camps aged under 70 *.
• Defenders of the independence of the Republic of Lithuania who suffered from aggression by the USSR on 11-13 January 1991 and later *.

*Passengers to whom these discounts apply are also entitled to purchase a 12-month (365-day) ticket for 2.90 EUR.

IMPORTANT!

After presenting a validated/activated ticket with a discount to passenger control, a passenger must also present a valid document confirming their entitlement to the transport discount. A passenger without a valid document must purchase a full-price ticket.

Examples of documents (certificates) granting entitlement to transport discounts are available.

• Persons who are 80 or over*
• Persons who have been recognized as having any level of disability, incapacity to work, or reached the age of old-age pension, and have been recognized to have a high level of special needs in accordance with legal acts. Accompanying persons are also eligible (one accompanying person per individual).
• Persons who have a medical condition included in the list created by the Ministry of Health, which requires constant treatment by hemodialysis, and the persons accompanying them (one accompanying person per individual).
• Persons who were recognised as children with a disability or as having Group I disability before 1 July 2005.
• Pupils and full-time university students (80% discount is applied for long term tickets).
• Participants of the Resistance against the occupations of 1940-1990 (volunteer soldiers) aged 70 and over.*
• Family members of deceased defenders of the independence of Lithuania who suffered from aggression by the USSR on 11-13 January 1991 and later.*
• Persons who suffered from the occupations of 1939-1990 – political prisoners and exiles, former prisoners in ghettos, concentration camps or other types of forced camps aged 70 and over.

*Passengers to whom these discounts apply are also entitled to purchase a 12-month (365-day) ticket for EUR 2.90.

By the ruling of Vilnius City Municipality Council, the following ticket types have been approved:

12-month (365-day) ticket.

• Eligible for persons aged 80 and older;
• Eligible for defenders of the independence of the Republic of Lithuania recognised as having a partial incapacity and moderate special needs in accordance with legal acts (recognised as having group II or III disability before 1 July 2005 as a result of aggression by the USSR on 11-13 January 1991 or later);
• Eligible for family members of deceased defenders on independence of Lithuania who suffered from aggression by the USSR on 11-13 January 1991 or later;
• Eligible for persons who suffered in the occupations of 1990-1993 (political prisoners and exiles, former prisoners in ghettos, concentration camps, and other types of forced camps).

Price: 2.90 EUR

12-month (365-day) ticket for a primary school pupil.

• Eligible for 1st-4th form pupils of schools in Vilnius City who present a certificate issued by the educational institution.

Price: 10 EUR

The event participant’s ticket.

• Eligible for participants of events recognized as meeting the criteria specified in the Methodology of Event Assessment.

Price: 1 EUR

The vehicle parking ticket for riding the bus No. 88.

• The ticket purchased in specific parking lots permits the person to ride Bus No. 88 for free until the end of the day.

Locations: Gedimino pr. 9A, Tilto g. 14, and Maironio g. 27 in Vilnius.

Car Free Day. On World Car-Free day (22 September), after presenting a driver’s license, a person can use public transport to travel all local (city) routes for free.

JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card – 1.50 EUR

30 min. ticket – 0.65 EUR

60 min. ticket – 0.90 EUR

1 day ticket – 5.00 EUR

3 day ticket – 8.00 EUR

* The ticket is valid only if activated on the bus;

There are 4 buses and 1 night bus to/ from Vilnius Airport. The 3G bus runs every 10 minutes. 1, 2 and 88 run every 20-30 minutes. The night bus on the route 88N Airport-Center-Europa Square runs from 22:30 to 5:30 a.m.

• You need to confirm that you really want to activate your ticket.
• After confirmation, wait for 15 seconds. After this time, your ticket will be activated.

Important: it is not possible to use the app without Lithuanian phone number.

The public transport stop is located near arrivals A and B, refer to the map.

Press the “Prepare for Control” button and show the controller the generated QR code.

On the buses and trolleybuses of Vilnius, passengers can transport their pet/animal in a special animal-dedicated container (e.g. a box, a basket, etc.) free of charge. If it is a larger animal, which does not fit in any container, can be transported without a container.

The passenger must have documents indicating the pet’s vaccination history. Pet also must wear a muzzle, unless it belongs to a breed unsuitable for muzzles, and be kept on a leash no longer than 0,5 metres. These requirements are specified in the Regulations of Transport of Passengers and Luggage on Buses and Trolleybuses in Vilnius City.

Please note that if an animal soils the interior of a bus or a trolleybus, the passenger carrying the animal must immediately clean the soiled/dirtied area. Additionally, the passenger is responsible for any harm caused by the animal to the health, property, safety, and peace of other passengers. The passenger should also follow the approved Regulations of Animal Handling in the territory of Vilnius City Municipality.

Short-term tickets

• It is recommended to buy a short-term ticket if it is a one-time ride.
• Two types of short-term tickets are available: 30-minute and 60-minute tickets. These tickets allow you to transfer from one vehicle to another without the need to validate a new ticket.
• An additional grace period of 10 minutes is applied to these tickets.
• If you require both 30-minute and 60-minute tickets for your journeys, you can top up your JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card with the desired amount of short-term tickets. Both ticket types can be purchased via the “m.Ticket” app.

Once you’ve topped up your JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card with both 30-minutes and 60-minute tickets, the first ticket  recorded on the card will be the one that was purchased earlier. After using up one type of ticket, another type will be available for use.

Day tickets

• Convenient for passengers who plan to frequently use public transport for the time period of 1 or 3 days.
• These tickets allow for convenient transfers between vehicles.
• They are valid for the corresponding number of hours from the moment of ticket activation: 1-day ticket is valid for 24 hours; 3-day ticket is valid for 72 hours.

Long-term tickets

• Recommended for passengers who frequently use public transport.
• Ticket types: 30, 60, 90, or 365 days.
• Tickets become valid from the moment of activation and remain so for the corresponding number of calendar days, expiring at 23:59 on the final day.
• When purchasing a ticket for 90 days or more, the price is reduced.

Long-term tickets for working days

• Convenient for passengers who frequently use public transport during working days.
• These tickets are valid on working days only, for the corresponding number of calendar days until 23:59 on the final day.
• When a long term working day ticket is activated, journeys on weekends or public holidays are possible only with the short term 30-minute, 60-minute ticket from JUDU / Vilniečio card, „m.Ticket, „Trafi“ apps or with 60–minute ticket, purchased in validator in the vehicle.
• When purchasing a long-term ticket that is valid during working days for a period of 90 days or more, the price is reduced.

A passenger can typically transport one item of hand luggage with dimensions of no greater than 60x40x20 cm or with a total sum of dimensions not exceeding 120 cm.

The dimension limit does not apply to winter sports equipment or one item of hand luggage carried by pupils or students necessary for their school or studies.

After validating an additional full price ticket, a passenger can transport:

• A second item of hand luggage with dimensions not greater than 60x40x20 cm or with a total sum of dimensions not exceeding 120 cm.

• A hand luggage item with dimensions greater/larger than 60x40x20 cm or with a total sum of dimensions exceeding 120 cm, provided they don’t obstruct other passengers, create inconvenience or stain/damage the seats or passengers’ clothing.

You can purchase or top up your JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card at various locations:

• Online self-service (top-up only);
• Customer Service Centers at Gedimino pr. 9A (Kudirkos Square), Konstitucijos pr. 3, 1 floor or Geležinkelio g. 16 (Vilnius Railway Station, Central Building);
• Maxima and RIMI supermarkets;
• Narvesen, Lietuvos Spauda selling locations.

IMPORTANT!

• If you are buying a JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card and are eligible for a discount on public transport tickets, inform the seller of your discount. The discount will be applied automatically for your future ticket purchases.
• When you purchase the JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card, you will receive a card description. Please read it carefully. On the last page of the description, write down the card number, which is located next to the barcode. Save JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card’s number because you will need it in case the card is lost.
• Topping up your card works as usual. At the ticket-selling location, give a JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card to the seller and specify what ticket type you would like to top up your card with. 
• If you top up your JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card with both 30-minute and 60-minute tickets on the online self-service website, you can choose which ticket you want to activate – just touch your JUDU / Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card to the validator, choose which ticket you want to activate and touch the validator with the card one more time.
• If your trip requires both 30-minute and 60-minute tickets, you can top up the card with the desired amount of short-term tickets. Both 30-minute and 60-minute tickets can also be purchased via the “m.Ticket” app.
• Always carry JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card with a valid electronic ticket when traveling on public transport. If you use a ticket with a discount, you must also carry a document confirming your right to the discount. Tickets are activated when the card is touched to the validator in the vehicle.
• In case you lose your JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card or if it’s broken, damaged, or not functioning, contact a Customer Service Center for assistance.

You can buy a 60-minute ticket at the validation machine on the vehicle using your contactless payment card. If you plan to spend more time in Vilnius, we recommend purchasing a JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card. You can buy it at the “Narvesen” store at the airport (Arrivals A or Departures) or in the city at locations marked with the JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card sign. Easy to use! The JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnius resident) card can be loaded with different types of public transport tickets. Once you have validated your ticket, you can switch vehicles until the ticket expires.

As of 23-12-2020, the following income shall be exempt from tax. The benefit of the resident that arises from the payment (full or partial) for rail or public transport tickets intended for the resident to travel to and from work. More information is available here.
